Another travel adventure is about to begin; however, this time, our travel plans have a mission - to visit Kate and Chris (and granddog Hank), and Tim and Jacqueline, and granddaughter Madison, who awesomely live in California and Hawaii, respectively. So needless to say, we get no sympathy from our friends when we explain our need to travel to these Pacific Ocean paradises. And who can blame them? But we are very excited as it's been since Christmas, and Kate and Chris's wedding, since we've been able to visit face to face (as opposed to facetime) - SO IT'S TIME!
Our first week will be spent in sunny California - Huntington Beach to be exact - where Kate has made plans for us to visit the Getty Museum and the Griffith Observatory, take in an Angels game, do a quick overnight in San Diego, get a glimpse of the Hollywood sign, maybe take a drive on Rodeo Drive and hopefully stick our toes in the Pacific. I've never been to California so it's all new to me.
Then we'll head to Oahu, Hawaii to visit with Tim and his family. We plan to experience our first Luau and of course spend some quality time with our granddaughter. And I'm sure Ed and Tim will get a chance to work together on Tim's house, offering as much help as we can to get ceiling fans installed and whatever else is on the list.
And then it's back to California for a second visit with Kate and Chris where we'll even get to become Huntington Beach residents for a couple of nights as we babysit the granddog, Hank, while Kate and Chris escape for a couple of days/nights for an impromptu honeymoon. But we'll also take in a Dodgers game and perhaps some places yet unknown to our itinerary.
We're packed, we're ready to go; NOW I just need time to slow down so our visit will feel as if it is lasting forever.
Stay tuned....
Betsy
