Six Degrees of Separation...

Monday morning saw us leaving London at 9:30 a.m. and arriving Southampton at 11:30 a.m.  Very organized and we pretty much walked through security/check-in/and then onboard.  Rooms not ready but nice of them to let everyone on the ship to do what we all do most on cruises -- EAT!  Yes that is how the cruise begins - you eat lunch.

But rooms were ready by 1pm - exactly what we expected. Toured the ship to find our way around. Unpacked and on deck for sail away at 5pm.  Cloudy and cool but dry. 

We had asked to be seated at a table for eight and this was honored.  Our thought was to meet some new folks.  And yes, the people at our table are from North Carolina, Florida and a single lady from Bath, England. But amazingly enough the first couple from Florida used to live in Alderbrook in Little Silver, a neighbor of Henry Hohurst (name provided for my mom) and they new my folks.  They are Steve and Eileen Bradicich. Mom - say hello to the Hohurst's for them.

The next couple was originally from Middletown and she is the Aunt of "Kim" who works in the Little Silver Post Office.  This is getting pretty ridiculous.  And, of course, the single lady is from Bath, England.  The best I could do there is to say my relatives going way back are from Bath.

So we head 3500 miles across the pond only to have many things in common with our tablemates.  Six degrees of separation if you ask me.

We lost an hour last night when we went to bed but no worries.....we slept in until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.  Haven't done that since I was probably a teenager.

We are off to Fecamp and Etretat this afternoon - resort towns and villages on the Normandy coast.
