A good night of sleep in the hotel - yay! Packed up the car and drove to the Denver Botanic Gardens for a morning visit - easy to find and parking right on site in a parking garage.
Their computers were not working when we first arrived so we could not pay admission, but they allowed us to go get our breakfast at the cafe. I returned afterwards to be able to pay our admission and we spent most of the morning wandering around this beautiful space. Getting quite warm again. We left the warm east coast for some cooler weather in the Canadian Rockies and Colorado but it has not yet happened!
Left midday to head to Fort Collins to visit with Lyn and Dave. Took about 2 hours or so with a brief stop for some lunch along the way. Basically an easy drive.
Arrived early afternoon and spent the rest of the day catching up with these great friends.
Also did some wash!!! So much fun to have clean clothes and especially clean pajamas.Refreshing cocktail followed by a yummy corn chowder soup we’re feeling quite relaxed and ready to sleep.

Morning coffee and tea before heading out to a local restaurant for brunch. Lyn and I walked back home to get some exercise. While it was cool this morning, it is heating up yet again - although it looks like a cold front will come through and Friday may feel more fall-like!
Planning a relaxing day catching up on this blog, chatting and visiting, with dinner out and an in-town concert - although we’ve been warned the band might not be the best.
Fort Collins is a nice college town with walkable streets and great shops. Very well established area. This is our second time visiting.
Dinner at Madras for street tacos - very good tacos, different from what we’re used to - mine was a beef brisket taco. And of course I had a margherita!
The band was very head-banging loud rock so we walked past and enjoyed some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream before heading home.
We all watched the movie I had watched on the plane to Denver that I never got to finish: The Family Plan with Mark Walhberg - fun night!
More tomorrow,
Betsy
