Iconic Iceland, Greenland & Canada - a Viking Ocean Cruise

We are off on our latest adventure - this time traveling to Iceland, with stops in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Greenland along the way. 

We are cruising with Viking Cruise Line out of NYC. We end in Reykjavik, Iceland and will fly back home from there. 

It's been a busy and at times, stressful year for us. Mom passed on April 18, 2024 at the age of 97 (plus one week)! What an amazing life she had and her passing was so peaceful. In late May I traveled to Colorado Springs (along with Kate and Olive) to help with Madison, Charlotte, and Brooke while mom and dad went to a wedding. Plus we were able to visit with Jacqueline too! Kate and Chris and family spent 4th of July week with us here on LBI. AND, through all of this, we have been planning a move to Kent Island, Maryland to be closer to two of the grandchildren (and our daughter and husband). Our LBI house is for sale (no buyers yet) but we will be moving to Maryland on October 10th. (note: we scheduled this trip way before we thought about moving!)

So, needless to say, juggling this trip in between everything else has been a bit crazy! But we are now very thankful to be able to get out of town for a couple of weeks and de-stress. And maybe the house will sell while we are gone :-)

Back to the trip: we have lots of cool excursions planned, including a dip in one of those thermal pools that Iceland is famous for!

One main goal is to learn to pronounce the names of the towns we will be visiting - the only one I can pronounce for sure is Reykjavik (wreck-ya-vek)

So follow along if you wish. Hopefully I'll have a good enough Wi-Fi connection to post some pictures as well.  If not, I'll add them after we return.
